Judy Monroe (Johnson)

From Judkins Colonial Home

Judy Patrice Monroe-Johnson was born on April 26, 1957 in Westfield, NJ to the late William and Shirley Monroe. She passed away April 8, 2016.

Judy graduated from Westfield High School in 1975 and continued her education at the Taylor Business Institute. She first went to work at Lockheed Martin. She later accepted a job at Merck & Co. where she worked until she passed.

The proudest moment of Judy's life came on April 14, 1994 when her daughter, Phylicia Jeanette Flagg was born.

Judy loved to travel. She just went to the Dominican Republic last month with Phylicia. But the vacation of a lifetime came in 2013, when the two of them went to St. Lucia together. Judy never moved out her hometown of Westfield, but she wanted to see the world, and brought her daughter along with her.

Preceding Judy in death are her parents, William and Shirley, and her brother, William, Jr. Her legacy lives on with her daughter, Phylicia, her brother Mark Anthony (Tony), and sisters Delores (Dee-Dee) Monroe-Morgan and Traci C. Monroe. Also, she has six nieces and nephews: Sharice, Howard, Erika, Mark, Jessica, and Emanuel. She also had two Godchildren: Emanuel and Zayd.
